Frameworks
I like using different frameworks to stay organized and focused, depending on the type of project or goal.
Over time, a few have stood out to me based on how clearly they support execution and results.
One of them is the Balanced Scorecard, which I find useful for connecting strategy with day-to-day actions. It helps break goals down into four key perspectives: financial, customer, internal processes, and learning and growth.
I also like Scrum, especially for keeping work iterative and manageable over short time frames.
Another method I’ve found valuable is the 4 Disciplines of Execution. I appreciate its emphasis on focus and accountability. It’s based on four principles: focusing on the wildly important, acting on lead measures, keeping a compelling scoreboard, and creating a cadence of accountability.
These are the approaches I’ve found most useful so far, depending on the team, the timeline, and the kind of outcome we’re aiming for.
